Because it relies on the Libretro interface, it loads modular cores for different systems. As a result, it supports many more cores than the regular version, which helps cover broader use cases. Cores do not come out of the box. Open Online Updater inside the app, then choose Core Updater to obtain the cores and keep them current. Updates for components are handled in the same place.

Controls, visuals, and extras

Remap inputs, use external controllers, and adjust visuals with shaders and overlays. Cheats can be entered and loaded when supported by the core. The project is open source and has no ads or DRM restrictions, and multi‑language options are available.
