MultiSneS16 is a SNES emulator app that adds easy local and online multiplayer for classic games.

MultiSneS16 targets players who want to relive retro titles together without tedious network setup. It supports play over a home network or the Internet, and you can coordinate matches using a Social Network account. Connections work across long distances, but gameplay quality relies on your upload and WiFi speed. The app does not include games, so you need to provide your own SNES ROMs. MultiSneS16 APK focuses on straightforward multiplayer while keeping controls familiar and the interface simple to use.

MultiSneS16 Features

LAN, WiFi Direct, and Online play

MultiSneS16 offers offline single player, plus LAN, WiFi Direct, and Online multiplayer. No manual port opening is required, and sessions stay in sync. You can invite friends through a Social Network account or join public servers created by users. Before you download MultiSneS16, note that Location permission is required for WiFi Direct discovery. Internet play uses roughly 60 to 100 KB per second, and hosting online needs at least 60 KB per second upload. If a router blocks direct hosting, the app may relay data. For stability, keep devices near the router or restart WiFi if lag appears.

Controls and display

You can use hardware controllers or onscreen touch controls. Virtual buttons can be moved and resized to suit your grip. Full screen mode is available for a cleaner view.

Save states, cheats, and ROMs

MultiSneS16 supports saving and loading game states, including during multiplayer on the host side. Cheats work in both single player and multiplayer. The app does not ship with games. Copy SNES ROMs to device storage and the app will detect their locations automatically. Supported formats include zip, smc, sfc, and swc. In online or LAN sessions, only the host needs the ROM. The emulator uses the open source Snes9x core.
