This course covers Diversity and Equality. Not only is it important we don’t discriminate against people, but also there are legal obligations on both us as individuals, and the company.

Everyone has the right to be treated equally and free of discrimination, regardless of their background, and very rarely can exceptions be justified.

On the first of October 2010, the Equality Act came into force, combining over 116 separate pieces of legislation into a single, simplified Act.

The course covers the nine protected characteristics under the Act – such as age, gender and disabilities - the characteristics that define who you are. It also covers how this should be applied in the workplace, as well as exemptions, exceptions, liability and responsibility.
