About 街野植物図鑑 1200種版

This is a plant search encyclopedia with simple explanations and photos of approximately 1,200 types of outdoor plants that are familiar to Japan. To view the photos, please use the site in a WiFi environment.

[Introduction]

This app features approximately 1,200 species of plants commonly found in Japan's coastal and low mountainous areas (approximately 500m above sea level), complete with brief descriptions and photographs.

While the focus is primarily on wild plants, some plants planted by humans are also included.

However, ferns and mosses are not included.

Plants are displayed in alphabetical order by their standard Japanese names.

[Introduction]

This app's search screen is divided into six sections.

The black bars at the top of the screen indicate the following: Life (life), Appearance (appearance), Leaves, Flowers, Fruits, Other.

Pressing the letter will switch the screen, so please select freely.

You can start a search from any screen.

Note that all search criteria selected on each search screen are interpreted as ANDed.

[How to Search]

1. Press the button for the item you want to search for. The button will turn orange.

2. To cancel a selected criterion, press the same button or another button in the same category.

(Only one item can be selected within a category separated by a gray band.)

Repeat steps 1-2 to select your criteria.

3. Press the "View Criteria" button at the bottom to display your previous search criteria.

4. Once you have selected your desired criteria, press the "List View" or "Sequential View" button at the bottom.

5. If "No Matches" is displayed, unintended criteria may have been selected. Check the "View Criteria" button (this is most likely due to previous search criteria remaining).

Change your search criteria by following steps 1-5.

6. Press the "Cancel Criteria" button at the bottom to cancel all search criteria on all pages.

This clears your previous search criteria when starting a new search. (This is especially useful if your previous search criteria span multiple pages.)

⑦ In "List View," the first line displays the flower color, fruit color, and Japanese name; the second line displays appearance and size; and the third line displays other information.

⑧ Tap to display a screen with a photo and description of that species.

⑨ In "Sequential View," the screen displays a screen with a photo and description of the species, sorted alphabetically by Japanese name.

The search will repeat the above process.

● If you select multiple plants, there may be no matches due to the number of plants listed. In that case, please try another search method.

We will continue to improve the number of listings, content, and search methods, so we appreciate your continued use.

[Other Features]

Hide plant names with "Memorize Mode."

Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the initial screen to open the settings screen and turn the radio button ON.

In "Memorize Mode," the Japanese name will not be displayed until you tap a photo. Therefore, please use the "Sequential View" button instead of "List View" to check your knowledge.
