Why the Bible is also referred to as a prayer book

How many people own a bible in this world? The truth is, most of the Christian do really own a bible but does anyone see its significance or is it just there for the sake of it or to show people how Christian you are. The bible is the word of God and it has a lot of importance in lifting up your spirits and teaching you what God requires you to do. However, did you know that a bible can also be a prayer book? Not all the books are prayers though some remind us of the laws that God imposed on us and others give life stories of people who were close to God. Let us look at some books which are considered as prayer books.

Mathew of the New Testament

This is probably where every Christian learned how to pray and do a conversation with God. Mathew is the prayer book behind of the Lord's Prayer which was taught by Jesus to his disciples. No Christian despite the many denominations doesn’t know this prayer and actually, most people get the importance of prayer in this verse of this book. The book of Jonah

Found in the Old Testament after the minor prophetic books, Jonah is a prayer book which hosts the prayer made by Jonah after he had been swallowed by big fish. This prayer book actually signifies the prayer made about salvation and most importantly to repent for the shame that we go through after turning our backs towards God. The prayer found in the second chapter and the second verse signifies the mercy God has for His people and he forgives when one humbles themselves.

The psalm book

The psalm is actually not a book with chapters because they are replaced by what is known as psalms. As David was writing this book, it was a songbook, yes but it was also a prayer book. The wisdom book as it is called full of prayers of cries and deliverance from God and anytime you feel like you need to look upon on a prayer when you are feeling down spiritually psalms is a prayer book that will definitely work for you.

Book of Samuel

There are two books of Samuel and the one we are referring here is the first book. It is the book which contains prayer is bringing yourself to God and praying when you are in need of something and then later when He answers we give Him thanks. Hannah showed a very good example by thanking God after she was granted a son. So we can term the first book of Samuel as a prayer book.

My main conclusion would be that the bible is not just a word that should be read-only on Sunday but a book which should help improve your prayer life. You do not have to copy paste anything into your prayer just read it for guidance on how you should pray. The bible is actually the best prayer book you will find in this world.
