Konami has officially released the eFootball v5.5.0 update, rolling out on May 28–29, 2026, after weekly maintenance. This update introduces major competitive features, including a Smart Assist filter, doubled game plan capacity, and significant changes to the eFootball League relegation system.

Key Features

1. Game Plan Lists Doubled (10 → 20)

The biggest surprise is the doubling of game plan capacity. Players previously could only create 10 Dream Team variations per ID. Now you can build 20 different squads, including club-exclusive, nation-exclusive, Showtime, Highlight, and POTW-only teams.

2. Smart Assist Filter for PvP

After community demand, Konami added a matchmaking filter for Division matches. Players can now filter opponents by Smart Assist settings:

• Enable "Smart Assist Off" to match only with players who have it disabled
• Note: Matchmaking may take longer with stricter filters
• Smart Assist settings can no longer be changed mid-match

3. No Relegation Between Divisions 1–3

Once your team reaches Division 3 or higher, you won't be relegated to lower divisions during an active Phase, even with a losing streak. This reduces frustration for players climbing the rankings.

4. Rating Formula & Phase Changes

• Starting Rating now depends on the Division reached in the previous season
• Phase duration shortened to 21 days
• Division ratings now kick off from 1400 points

5. USL License Revoked

USL teams, kits, players, and managers have been replaced with authentic strips, emblems, and models due to licensing changes. Some unavailable players cannot be used in Player Fusions or matches.

6. Quality-of-Life Improvements

• "Select All" button added in My Team for easier squad management
• Locked players remain protected even if selected accidentally during mass releases
• New Google Play achievements added
• New Gift Code Feature

The update coincides with several new content drops:

• POTW Club Legend pack released
• Final volume of the 9th Anniversary campaign
• New Epic packs available
• English League Season's Best pack featuring Decl Claim Rice (Visionary Pass, Long-Range Tackle), Erling Haaland (Bullet Header, Fighting Spirit), and Hugo Ekitiké (Phenomenal Finishing, Acceleration Burst)
