Galaxy Watch Plugin helps you set up a Galaxy Watch and keep it connected each day. It is a component of Galaxy Wearable, so install Galaxy Wearable before use. Additionally, on Android 6.0, allow permissions in Settings > Apps > Galaxy Watch Plugin > Permissions. When you install the Galaxy Watch Plugin APK, it manages pairing and required background services, while optional permissions apply only to specific tasks. This keeps setup clear and the watch working as expected.

Watch pairing and nearby device search

Galaxy Watch Plugin uses the Location permission to find nearby Galaxy Watch devices over Bluetooth and start pairing. This helps you select the correct watch and begin the connection process quickly.

Message, call log, and calendar sync

After pairing, Galaxy Watch Plugin synchronizes key phone data with the watch so your daily information is available on your wrist.

• SMS: syncs messages with the watch
• Call logs: syncs call history
• Calendar: syncs schedules and events

These functions rely on the SMS, Call logs, and Calendar permissions.

File transfer between phone and watch

Galaxy Watch Plugin uses the Storage permission to transmit and receive stored files with the watch. You can move content between devices when needed for everyday use.

Account linking and updates

The Contacts permission supports services linked with your Samsung account information. In addition, the Telephone permission checks device identification to update apps and install plugin apps. For eSIM support models, the optional Camera permission lets you scan a QR code to activate the watch SIM card.
