The app for the Dutch version of the TV program De slimste mens.

This is the app for the Dutch version of the television program "De slimste mens" (The Smartest Person). This tongue-in-cheek knowledge quiz searches for the smartest person in the Netherlands. Play this fun quiz against your friends, unknown smarties, or alone.

Multiplayer

In the multiplayer game, you play 5 rounds against friends or random opponents. The goal is to eliminate your opponent by running out of seconds first. In the first 4 rounds, you can gain seconds by answering questions quickly and correctly. In the final round, you get the chance to eliminate your opponent's seconds with correct answers.

Single-player

In the single-player mode, you can test your knowledge yourself. You don't need an opponent. This game only consists of the 3-6-9 round. You receive 9 open-ended questions that you have 90 seconds to answer correctly. Each correct answer earns you 100 seconds. If you answer questions 3, 6, and 9 correctly, you'll receive 300 seconds. Be quick, because your seconds are ticking away!

Are you a real smarty pants and can you get a high score? Your single-player score will earn you a spot on the rankings in the "De slimste mens" app. The player with the highest weekly score during the "De slimste mens" television season has a chance to win the one and only "I'm the smartest mug." The winner will be notified personally by email.

New: Winning streaks

Are you the smartest person in the Netherlands? You can prove it every month by achieving winning streaks in the app.

When you win 3 multiplayer games in a row, you complete a winning streak and receive a trophy. If you collect the most trophies this month, you're the winner! Didn't make it? Don't worry. Every month you have a new chance; on the first day of the month, all winning streaks are reset to 0.

You can see the progress of your winning streak at the end of a game you win. You can also find an overview of your current winning streak, your previous winning streaks, and your ranking on the app's homepage.

TV Question of the Day

During the television season of De slimste mens (The Smartest Person), you can play the TV Question of the Day on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. You'll see a puzzle in the app that the contestants will also have to solve that evening on the broadcast of De slimste mens. We'll search for three connections in the puzzle, each described by four keywords. The correct answers will be shown on the broadcast that evening. We'll draw one winner each day from all players with correct answers. The winner of the TV Question of the Day will be featured on deslimstemens.nl during the television season and will receive a personal message via email.
